xCPPS, Penguin Elite, and OpenCP website’s are all down. OpenCP and Penguin Elite are hosted on the same host, which is apparently suspended for reasons which we do not know right now. (perhaps someone reported them to their host?)
xCPPS’ website is also down. It’s been having a lot of downtime recently. It’s being going on and offline frequently. Their client is also not working. OpenCP’s client is also not working.
Penguin Elite, however is online for those who downloaded the client before the website is down. Cooldude (owner of Penguin Elite) says that he will soon have an area where people can still download and register for Penguin Elite, even when the website is down.
Anyways, I’d like to take this downtime to ask everyone a question.
Some Club Penguin private servers are now going to allow “donations”, and when you donate to them, they will reward you (for your donation) by giving you extra benefits in the private server, like a custom item, or maybe a special rank. This is similar to what Runescape and World of Warcraft private servers do.
So for example, let’s say they open donations, and they say that if you donate $10 they will make your own custom item which only you will get, so you donate $10, and then you get your own item. Or the same thing could go for your own custom room, a lot of possibilities.
However I am curious, would you pay real money for extra benefits in a private server?
I know a lot of the time “it depends” on what the benefits are, but just in general, would you be willing to pay for extra benefits? Or would you never pay for extra benefits?

Also, you have to realize, no donations, no cpps, no cpps, no fun.
They don’t need donations, they just WANT profit, They say they need money for servers but they dont.. It’s just ripping you off.
OpenCP’s files are now on Zobbie isles host.
Sometimes on popular private servers, the donations we ask for actually goes to the server it runs so we can run on a more reliable server with more servers.
Money=Better VPS=More servers + Faster speed=People liking it.
Well once our site (OpenCP.org sorry for ads) is back up donation system shall be gone, the chance to get in-game mod for a cheap donation is now over! Also we do not make a profit!
Pay real money for in-game benefits? That goes against the principles that are advertised along with private servers. One of the main hooks is that everyone is equal and everything is free. If you add extra benefits for special users that have donated
money, you’re no better than Disney. Also, why spend your money on a private server? We all know how unreliable they are. In a few months your $10 will go right down the drain.

Turns out that xCPPS one of the private servers asking for users to donate. A donation of $50 dollars or more gets you in-game moderator status. What are private servers coming to when some random kiddie can log on, donate, and receive moderator status? It’s idiotic.
Guess what i wouldn’t donate cause i have better use of my money. The money might be a fail cause the cpps could go down in 2 sec but in case you didnt know it costs MONEY like $10 per month to keep a private server running. No wonder why most are add filled…

ZKid & I have decided to move hosts site shall be up soon.
Also last night Syko confirmed that Keith (The left out Fatty) was DoS’ing there site etc…

xCPPS is back now. But my 2 penguin accounts aren’t working. I just type in my username and password and it says “Penguin Not Found?”. I also tried my friends’ accounts with random, fake passwords and the same thing happened. What’s going on? Can they fix it?
