Hey guys,
I put up a poll asking are there too many private servers? So far 60% of you say no, and 40% of you say yes.
I put up this question because new private servers are popping up every day, and at this rate in a few months we will probably have something like 50 private servers! Could this be a bad thing? Obviously with 50 private servers you could only play a handful of them, or just mainly play one, because it would be impossible to log on each one.
The “demand” for private servers, is pretty high, so if there are 50 private servers, maybe people will just find the private server they like, and just stick with it.
However sometimes I just liked how during iCPv3, there was only ONE private server, which made it a lot easier to meet friends on, because you could just say “meet me on the private server” and everyone would know what you were talking about. Now you have to be like “xCPPS? Penguin Elite? Penguin World? etc.”
I also find it kind of funny how a few months ago we were all begging for more private servers, now almost half of you are saying slow down on the private servers!
What are your thoughts on this, do you think that there are too many private servers? Should we only have one “main” private server?

I would say keep AtlanticPenguins and close some private servers that will stink when we get 50.
Eventually, all so called “unworthy” private servers will die out. Give them time.
I don’t think there are too many, because with this many, Club Penguin will have a harder time giving out C&D’s. So if we can keep this many, plus a new private server coming out soon (maybe today), we might have just enough for Club Penguin to handle.
This’ll end up like Runescape private servers, There was 1, then 2, then C&Ds sent out then people rebal’d against JaGex, Then shitloads of RSPS came out.. Now there is over 1,000 RSPS and JaGex ignore them.. BUT they do sue huge servers for an incredible amount of money if they even profit.
My friends RSPS has been going on for 3 years now, And is in 100% risk of being sued for Probs over $700,000 as he has gained $32,000+ & has 2,000+ players on daily and a wide range of servers to select from.
You should select one main private server because there are too many private servers. I also like iCPv3 because it was the only private server.

You guys know how most of these private servers have ended, right? A C&D from “Disney”. Every one. Not in one was action taken. Do you know how all of these C&D’s were received? By email. Cease and Desists are always sent by mail. Every owner would have got a letter sent to their door, not an email.
Well, let me get to the point here. Apparently there’s this group called the “Crocodiles”. It was created about 2 years ago, there were quite a bit of members (as I have been told). The group eventually died, only few members still being in touch. Around the creation of iCPv3 they reformed. There were only 3 members. One got sent to jail for 6 months for using dukadialer to harass people. Anyway, it has been said that these “Crocodiles” have been sending fake C&D’s to private servers. They said they were the ones who got iCPv3 down, along with a lot of other private servers. They also claim to have dox on just about all of the staff members of just about every CPPS that ever existed. tl;dr: Apparently a group of people have been sending fake legal documents to private servers to get them shut down.
This means that, possibly, iCPv3 and a lot of other CPPS’s were all closed under false pretenses.

I was part of the group when this happened. I have a few things to inform you guys on.
1) The iCPv3 C&D was legit
2) Ross would have shut it down anyway, he didn’t feel right making money off of content he didn’t own.
So don’t go running your mouth to everyone unless you know the full story.

Well, I think this is a good idea, maybe all the CPPSs should team up to make the ULTIMATE CPPS, then that would be the only one, and probably the best one! This may be a stupid idea to some people, but its just my opinion.

Really. Let’s see you open a successful CPPS in under 3 days. Then keep it running. Then getting more people to come on. Then the price of the VPS comes in. Then domain prices, patches on items, just basic knowing of how to code in PHP, C++, C#, Flash, and VB6. Then encriptions, registers. And still, you think that we are kids? No, of course you don’t.
Lmao, I can do all that, And no person that makes CPPS codes anything, They just edit the variables and add custom items, I coded my own RSPS from scratch and made my own Site, And what did you do? Copy some Kiddy Clubpenguin source and tweak it a little bit? And i’ve got enough money to buy more servers than you ever could. Exactly. I’m a kid, but yes I can see how you say that. And btw, Jimmy, try making your own game without copying anything. Its not so easy, isn’t it? I’ve tried it before and never got done with the first basic steps.
50 isn’t a huge figure man. Just take a look at other games around.
