***I want to make it clear this one time CPro is not a copy of CP-Pro AT ALL.***
Alright, hello everyone. As you all know I am making CPro with a friend of mine.
I have thought long and hard about what will happen if I release the source.
I thought;
1. I could get sued for every person who uses it.
2. I would not get credit.
3. Flappi wouldn’t get credit (It’s the OpenCP base with huge modifications).
4. People will claim they made the source.
That’s about it. I thought of the good things too,
I thought;
1. People will be happy to use a source with ease that has a page in it with directions on exactly how to use the CPro source and set it up.
2. People will hopefully give me credit, as well as Flappi.
3. It may make a huge era of CPro’s.
4. It’ll be a fun experience for a majority of CPPS players.
I am not sure if I will or will not let out the CPro source.
It all depends. I mean, I am not afraid of the credit thing I have exploits.
The main fear is getting mixed in with the law firm.
I wouldn’t want to get sued out of $250,000 for every person who uses the source.
I am not saying that would happen I just think I’d rather NOT deal with that just because I wanted to let out my source.
If anyone gets into my server (hacks it of something) and gets the source I will destroy their server if they run it.
Many exploits are within that source. I recommend NOT trying to steal it.
Anyway, comment your true opinion on what I should do.
Don’t just say “DO IT!! :O” ’cause you want the source.
Think what YOU would do if you had to decide on this.

DO NOT release it. It’s like this:
You release it, For every CPPS that goes up using YOUR released source, Disney will lose money.. Now, The amount of money they are losing will go towards the Sue fee.. + Damages, etc. You could easily be sued upto $5,000,000 if 5 CPPS turn BIG from your Source..
I know this, As it has happened to WoWPS’ & RSPS’..
Can and would Disney want to sue minors? They would get a terrible reputation. Plus Club Penguin isn’t Disney’s biggest source for money
i hope they do lose money. i HATE them for shutting down all the CPPSes for NO REASON besides their stuck up tight-ass copyright bullsh*t
I say don’t, for the reasons stated by Cooldude170.
A lot of people are saying that you could get sued but I doubt they [Disney] would sue a teenager because of instructions. It would be whoever uses it’s fault and they probably would get sued before you would.
Actually, whoever said limewire, an old woman was sued $2,000,000 for downloading about 10 songs.
Limewire was also charged around $1,000,000,000 for the remainder of the damage caused.
So yeah, the user and the creator are able to be sued.
Also, I still say don’t release it, simply for the fact that a bunch of idiots would claim it’s theirs, you’d get fined, and for the fact that CPro will be the best.
iCPv3 wasn’t fully leaked, everyone is doing fine without it.
iCPPS wasn’t leaked, everyone is doing fine without it.
The latest Penguin Safari isn’t leaked, everyone is doing fine without it.
To the people who think this will make it easier to set up a server:
It won’t, because if you can’t understand how to buy a vps, set up mysql, php, apache, ssh, or sftp, you won’t make it with any source.
I found an awesome site for VPSes. It’s new, and in beta. I’ll post a link once it comes out. My uncle is working on it.

I don’t think you should release the Source. If we had hundreds of Servers usig the Source with the exact same features and easy to set up, people will just move on to something else. Not worth the risk.

And when hosting a VPS, you need to pay it to keep the servers running

I say release the source to trusted people who won’t leak it.
Or, release the source with your name marked all over it.
If he puts his name all over it, he can still get sued by Disney.
Lot of mixed views, I have all the sources but PE’s directions are specific enough for me and I think it would be easier if you could release the source!
I now say, Still release it, But don’t give instructions only let the people use it who know how to run a server not noobs who dont even know what an IP is. Don’t give instructions just give us the source so not all can use.

The name cpro is such a copy of CP-Pro, Syko just took off the extra “p” and called it cpro. If Syko comes on cp-pro I will ban him for that reason!
